Muddling—using a thick baton-like tool or spoon to lightly crush ingredients—helps extract flavorful essential oils and juices. In this recipe, we muddle fresh rosemary and cranberries with a bit of sugar, then add additional cranberry juice for color and sweetness to balance the gin. Also try this cocktail with vodka.

Fragrant, tart, sweet and balanced
I'm not a fan of gin so I didn't have any on hand and ended up using vodka. I like how dry but not too dry this drink is. Muddling the rosemary spring releases all it's glory. I now understand why gin would be the first choice of liquor in this cocktail. So off to the store for some gin.
