This crisp-creamy salad is reminiscent of a classic Waldorf salad, but tangy yogurt replaces the mayonnaise, for a lighter, fresher flavor. Thin half-rounds of cool cucumber and chopped dill fit seamlessly into the mix of apples and celery. For a light main dish or an elegant first course, lay slices of smoked salmon on each serving before sprinkling with the dill and walnuts.

Tip

Don’t make this salad too far ahead of serving it. It’s best as soon as the ingredients are mixed.

Delicious
This salad is delicious. It makes a large quantity so I recommend cutting in half unless you have at least 6 people who want to eat. It does keep in fridge for a couple days but best served fresh.
