These flavor-packed burgers are a spin on a chouriço-like spiced pork sausage from Goa in southern India. They're especially delicious topped with yogurt, torn fresh mint leaves and thin slices of cucumber or tomato.

Don't undermix the pork mixture; be sure to combine it well so the breadcrumbs and seasonings are evenly distributed.

Perfect For Tailgates
Made these last night. Whole family loved them. I used my charcoal grill and a cast-iron skillet to prepare them. Came out perfect with just a hint of smoke. I will be making these for our tailgates this fall!

Extremely fast and easy
I wouldn't categorize this as mind-blowing or anything but it was quite tasty, especially considering how fast it came together. Really good with the suggested toppings!

Low Effort/High Impact
This is a perfect weeknight dinner, or even last-minute guest meal: super flavorful with minimum effort and out of the ordinary. Love this recipe.

We made this last night for dinner and it was okay. It came together quick and had a lot of flavor, but the texture was too soft, almost mushy. We prefer more bite in a burger, so if we make it again would probably cut the panko & yogurt by half.

We thought this was great—flavor packed and good texture. Based on the prior comment about mushiness, drained the yogurt beforehand to reduce moisture, and used 1/2 cup of panko. Topped with more drained yogurt, sliced cucumbers, and some purchased mint chutney. With the killer cucumber and chickpea chaat recipe ( on the side, this was a standout recent dinner.
