In this twist on an American classic, we add tahini to boost flavor in a buttery oat mixture that bakes on top of juicy blueberries. Be sure to use quick-cooking oats; old-fashioned oats won’t soften quite enough. Ripe fresh berries are best but frozen work, too. Look for frozen “wild” blueberries—they’re tiny, but pack big flavor. If frozen regular berries are a must, add a few minutes to the baking time, but don’t thaw them before use. This crumble is especially delicious warm, with a scoop of ice cream melting on top.

Helped the diminished blueberries be their best selves.
Due to the drought, the normally bright, juicy, bursty Maine wild blueberries have been bland and mushy. In spite of that, they shined in this dish, which was wonderfully easy to make. I added the juice of a quarter lemon to give a tiny bit of extra pep. The tahini-infused crumble is truly an inspiration. This is an instant favorite.

Wow!
Whipped this up super fast and we all loved it! A great sophisticated twist on a cobbler, less sweet than most too. Will be on repeat!

This is phenomenal
It's amazing how the simple addition of tahini elevates the taste of a blueberry crumble to a whole new level! I can't stop making it.

Wonderful!
I topped this with sweetened lemon yogurt. So wonderful. I made a half portion and found that it needed cooking for the stated time (30 minutes).

I just made this for breakfast. I did not have TAHINI. have added pecans on top. Thanks for the recipe. It was super easy to make and delicious.

Delicious, I made it with cherries and it was so good!

Thanks for this suggestion. Cherries are my favorite.

A grown-up blueberry crumble! The kids didn't love this one as much as the adults did, but the complexity of flavor makes this a winner.

This was delicious, fast, and easy! Made as written, and served with homemade Icelandic yogurt for breakfast. The freshness and tang of the yogurt cut through the sweetness, making it perfect for the morning time.

I saw the comment that someone used cherries instead of the blueberries. Was it tested with any other fruit or is it only a berry crumble? Thanks.

Lynn C.

Hi Ramona -

This recipe was only tested with blueberries but I'm sure an equal amount (by weight) of other berries or cherries would work as well.

Best,

Delicious, yes the tahini made it special. The blueberries were the stars, as they should be.
