With its miles of coastline and reputation as the home of mangiafagioli—or bean eaters—it’s no surprise that shrimp and white beans are a classic pairing in the cuisine of Tuscany, Italy. In this quick, easy recipe, the two are the stars, but with so few supporting ingredients, it’s important to use a dry white wine that’s good enough to drink on its own. Serve warm or at room temperature with a leafy salad and crusty bread to round out the meal.

Loved this recipe!
The beans and shrimp soak up the flavor of the wine in this recipe and the red pepper flakes add just the right amount of heat. I used basil instead of parsley - it was delicious and so easy to make!

Delicious
I made this for my folks and it was a big hit. I cooked a pound of Camellia white beans; I think the homemade beans help the dish if you’ve got the time or an Instant Pot. Really tasty especially with that fresh basil mixed in at the end. Will definitely make again!
