In France, gâteau au yaourt is a cake that uses an entire container of yogurt then cleverly employs the empty container as the measuring cup for the flour, sugar and oil. It’s easy to throw together and a perfect recipe to make with children. If you’ve got a 4-ounce container of yogurt, bake the cake in a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan; if it’s a 5.3-ounce container, use a 9-inch round cake pan. Either way, the number of eggs and amounts of both baking powder and salt remain the same. The cake is very forgiving this way. It’s also a blank canvas, so feel free to flavor it to your liking with vanilla or other extracts, ground spices or grated citrus zest. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.

This surprised everyone!
I've made this cake twice, the last time for my mother-in-law for her birthday with strawberries and whipped cream. Both she and my husband couldn't stop raving. It's so easy, moist, and the sugar gives the crust a crunchy texture we weren't expecting.

So easy, FYI in case you missed it: Container refers to yogurt container.
Since I buy yogurt in 16oz containers I used a liquid measuring cup for the yogurt then continue to use it for the ingredients referencing container.

No errors in recipe
Sarah - it’s made with the yogurt container. The recipe lists how many times you fill the container.

Question
Could you use full fat plain Greek yogurt for this recipe?

Mediocre
The cake could stand something extra. It doesn't have a lot of taste. It may go well with a cup of coffee/tea. A little bland for my taste.
