Hot Honey
- MakesMakes ½ cup
- Cook Time15 minutes
You can purchase hot honey in the supermarket but it’s a breeze to make yourself. We especially like the deep color and fruity, smoky subtleties of seed-free gochugaru (Korean pepper flakes), but standard red pepper flakes are fine, too. Just make sure yours are fresh. Choose a light, mild honey varietal such as clover honey that won’t compete with the heat of the chilies. Great ways to use hot honey: pizza, fried chicken, grilled pork, biscuits, waffles, baked brie. Store in a clean jar at room temperature for up to two months.
