Irina Georgescu is a passionate cook who is committed to sharing the traditions of her heritage Romanian cuisine. Having grown up in Bucharest, Georgescu celebrates the flavors of her childhood and home cooking in her cookbook "Carpathia: Food From the Heart of Romania" with recipes inspired largely from her mother and grandmother. She has been featured in National Geographic, the LA Times and National Post Canada, among others. Now based in Wales, Georgescu feels strongly about exploring the world through food and desires to gain understanding of people through both what they eat, as well as put things in the context of history.
